Oregon State Assessments
Oregon students in grades 3-8 are tested annually using the Oregon Standardized Assessment System (OSAS) in three main areas: English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, and Science. Our testing window begins April 22 and ends on May 17, 2023.
Statewide tests provide educators and administrators with information about what educational approaches help students show progress. Test results may be considered to determine where additional resources are needed. Your child’s participation is important to ensure schools and districts receive the targeted information they need to help all students succeed.

2023-24 30-day Notice and Opt-out Forms for English Language Arts and Math
To opt-out of the Math or ELA assessment, please complete the form below and submit it directly to your child's school. To best support school planning, you are encouraged to submit this form before testing begins. This form is only valid for the 2023-24 school year. Parents are required to submit an opt-out form annually should they wish to be exempted from statewide summative tests.

2023-24 Exemption Information for OSAS Science and ELPA
Under Oregon Administrative Rule 581-022-1910, parents may request that their student be exempted from taking the Oregon State Assessment System (OSAS) Science and/or the English Language Proficiency Assessment (ELPA) to accommodate a student's disability or religious beliefs. Please complete the form below and submit it directly to your child's school. To best support school district planning, you are encouraged to submit this form before testing begins.

SEED Survey
General Information Provided by Oregon Department of Education
The Student Educational Equity Development (SEED) Survey gathers information about the educational experiences of students in Oregon. The content of the survey varies by grade level and measures student perceptions of their opportunities, self reliance, and sense of belonging. Individual results will not be reported.
The 2023-24 survey window is consistent with the current Summative Test window for ELA, mathematics, and science.
